North Carolina State University Engineering Student, Trey Hutchens, finished in a season-best 8th position in Saturday’s NASCAR K&N Pro Series East “United Site Services 70” after starting the race in the 20th position.

“It is unfortunate we had our qualifying struggles because I feel that we had a Boninfante Friction Chevrolet capable of competing inside the Top-5. Driving through the field as we did and in the manner we did in such a short race is a true testament to my race team’s hard work in order to come to the race track prepared.”

Hutchens run was equally impressive after being away from the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East for such a long period. “It definitely was great to be back at the race track, and having a strong run never hurts. We’ve had great speed in our race cars all year and it was nice to finally execute, hopefully we can carry this momentum in to Iowa in two weeks.”
